M-34 Productions and La MaMa ETC invite you to a work-in-progress:
VERY FINE PEOPLE
THE TRIAL OF THE TIKI TORCH NAZIS
December 7/8
2pm
La MaMa ETC
74 East 4th Street
August 2017. Unite The Right: a rogues gallery of the American alt-right, neo-Confederates, neo-Nazis, White Nationalists, and Aryan Identitarians gather in Charlottesville, Virginia. They carry tiki torches and chant “Jews will not replace us.” Violence and pandemonium. One attendee drives his car into a crowd of counter-protestors, killing one woman and injuring dozens. Then-president Donald Trump says that there were “very fine people on both sides.”
October 2021. Sines v. Kessler: the event organizers are sued in civil court by nine injured parties. They are accused of “conspiracy to commit racially motivated violence.” The trial is a baffling, chaotic farce.
Please join us on December 7th + 8th at La MaMa for a work-in-progress reading of the trial's closing statements.
Attendance is free but seats are limited.
Featuring the following performers:
Nadia Sepsenwol, Kim Savarino, Jacq Gregg, Ross Cowan, Marty Keiser, David Skeist* and Casey Robinson*
